STM will contribute to HOT in the area of MEMS and Optical packaging. More specifically, it will contribute to hermetic packaging and Optical packaging of different sensor prototypes developed by the HOT partners. ST Microelectronics will perform theoretical/experimental research to investigate the best packaging solutions for both MEMS and Optical sensors and develop fabrication processes to assure the sensors manufacturability in volumes.
